Iain O'Brien is clear to play for NZ in the second test against Pakistan in Wellington after an xray cleared him of a fractured finger
Black Caps bowler Iain O'Brien is expected to play in the second test against Pakistan starting in Wellington on Thursday.
O'Brien dislocated a finger on his bowling hand during the first test in Dunedin, but an x-ray has cleared him of a fracture.
Meanwhile, team mate Grant Elliott is battling tendonitis in his knee, but says he is keen to contribute more than the two overs he bowled in the first test. He says he wants to contribute more with the bat as well.
Elliott says Pakistan may play a second spinner to take advantage of more spin friendly conditions at the Basin Reserve. He says the pitch at the Basin is drier and bouncier than most, and wrist spinner Danesh Kaneria could be an option for Pakistan.
Both teams train in Wellington today and could be forced indoors due to forecast wet weather.
