NZ driver Scott Dixon has won the latest round of the Indy Car series in Edmonton

Team Penske team-mates Helio Castroneves and Will Power have gifted Scott Dixon a win in the latest round of the Indy Car series in Edmonton, Canada.

The pair were duelling for the lead with fewer than a handful of laps remaining, when the Brazilian blocked Power, forcing the Australian off line.

Dixon moved up to second during the tussle and then Castroneves was black flagged for the manoeuvre, promoting the Kiwi driver to first.

Castroneves was irate following the race, but Power says he was clearly blocked. He says a black flag is a pretty harsh penalty and Castroneves should have simply been docked a position.

Dixon remains third in the Indy Car series, but is now 71 points behind championship leader, Power.
