After days of discussing the surface at Etihad Stadium, the All Blacks finally got to inspect the pitch first-hand in Melbourne.

The All Blacks have finally set foot on the playing surface for tomorrow night's Bledisloe Cup test in Melbourne.

The visit to Etihad Stadium took no more than 10 minutes.

The All Blacks wandered amongst the $2.2m portable heat lighting system that has been hovering above the most talked about sporting surface in Australia all week long.

Stadium management would not allow media to enter the stadium, however via a text from All Blacks media manager Joe Locke, Graham Henry's assessment was that the ground looks fine but the proof will come tomorrow night.
