Rowing New Zealand is keeping alive the dream of a women's eight competing at the Olympics

Rowing New Zealand is keeping alive the dream of a women's eight competing at the Olympics. The crew finished fourth in its heat at the World Cup event in Lucerne.

High performance manager Andrew Matheson says they are still hopeful of grabbing a spot at the upcoming qualifying regatta in Poland. Matheson says their competition for the spot was not too far ahead of ahead of them in this race.

The Evers-Swindell twins withdrew from the event because Georgina has come down with the flu.

The remaining crews will compete in semi-finals overnight.
