A massive boost for the organisers of the 2010 Rowing World Championships as they get the all clear from FISA
The Rowing World Championships at Lake Karapiro next year have been given the final seal of approval from FISA.
The world governing body was in town for the recent Maadi Cup regatta.
Karapiro 2010 CEO Tom Mayo says it was a very thorough process and they have been given the thumbs up.
Mayo says FISA went through the plans in a lot of detail, wanting to understand things, like how they would cope with 1500 athletes and managers and how they will get into the venue without disrupting traffic and spectators.
However, FISA has sent a letter, saying they do not need to return and they are confident with where they are at.
A major launch, including details of their worldwide promotional campaign, will be made later this month.
