Melbourne Tigers coach Al Westover believes Canadian swingman Dave Thomas will be the perfect fit for the Breakers in the upcoming Australian basketball league.

Thomas has been linked with the Breakers after the club revealed it is in talks with a player with vast NBL experience and team and individual honours to his name.

Westover says the Tigers have reluctantly parted company with Thomas as they are going with an all-Australian roster this season. He says Thomas was a great player for the Tigers, playing in four straight grand finals for the franchise.

The Breakers are remaining tightlipped about the rumours but hope to make a player announcement in the near future.
