Tour of Southland gets its first big name NZ cyclist signing up; Hayden Roulston will ride with Calder Stewart Industries team

Hayden Roulston is the first of the big name New Zealand cyclist to sign on for this year's Tour of Southland.

Roulston will race with the Calder Stewart Industries team in November. He is now eligible to ride the event after it lost its International Cycling Union status.

If the Tour of Southland had stayed as a UCI registered event, Roulston, or any other New Zealander riding for a pro tour team, would not be allowed to ride. Roulston pulled out after stage one last year after being involved in a crash.
