Cricket: More fearsome foe in front of Black Caps

The loss of bowler Shane Shillingford has put perhaps a more fearsome foe in front of the Black Caps for the third test in Hamilton.

Sunil Narine is likely to take Shillingford's place in the West Indies 11.

Narine was a lethal weapon for the Windies in last year's test series against the Black Caps in the Caribbean, taking eight wickets in the first test.

Black Caps wicketkeeper BJ Watling says they're aware of the new dimension Narine will bring.

He says Narine is a different type of bowler to Shillingford, and they're doing a bit more scouting to make sure they can fully adapt to his type of spin.

Rain is falling in Hamilton this morning.
