Aussie paceman Shaun Tait will shoulder extra reasonability when he plays his second and final game for the Wellington Firebirds tonight.

Wellington plays defending HRV Cup champions Auckland at Westpac Stadium.

Firebirds captain Grant Elliott says Tait will have to rattle the Aces' top order as Mark Gillespie is being rested.

Elliott says Tait was instrumental in their win last week, which is just what a team needs from its import.

The match is the first in the competition for Auckland.
