The rain has cleared in Auckland and play in the third and final Twenty20 between the Black Caps and South Africa is expected to get underway as scheduled at Eden Park.
New Zealand has won the toss and elected to bowl first.
The series is currently tied at 1-all, with tonight's match to decide the series.
Earlier the rain called an early halt to the White Ferns Twenty20 match against England, handing the visitors victory via the Duckworth-Lewis system.
The result means England have wrapped the series with two games still to play.
