Haas storms to playoff victory

Bill Haas has beaten major winners Phil Mickelson and Keegan Bradley in a sudden-death playoff to win the PGA Tour's Northern Trust Open in California.

Haas drained a 43-foot birdie putt on the second playoff hole to see off his American countrymen and take home the $1.4 million cheque.

Mickelson and Bradley earlier birdied the 18th hole to force a playoff.
