Tiger Woods feels he's getting closer to breaking his Major Championship drought but is still not quite the finished product. A triple bogey on the 6th hole saw Woods' challenge fade in the final round of the British Open, eventually finishing tied for 3rd, four shots behind the winner Ernie Els. "I finally feel like I'm really healthy, and I've got my pop back in my swing, so I'm hitting the ball the distances that I know I can. When I get out of here with a little bit of adrenalin it goes a bit further," Woods says. "It's a combination of having my strength and my speed back, at the same time playing tournament golf. It's not that far off." The 36-year-old American's last win in a major came at the 2008 US Open. Els completed a remarkable victory with Aussie Adam Scott imploding with four consecutive bogeys on the final four holes. The 'Big Easy' now has four Major Championship titles with this latest triumph coming 10 years after his last at the 2002 Open. Photo: Getty Images |
