One of Hayden Paddon's major backers is cautiously backing a proposal for the Kiwi rally driver to move up the WRC. Paddon wants to make the elevation to the top ranks after spending only a season in the SWRC class. Richard Giltrap, managing director of car company the Giltrap Group says they're keen to stay along for the ride, but it's too early to talk of what they can contribute to a major financial step up. "For us, I'm not really prepared to commit at this stage what level of commitment we'll make, but obviously we'll be there to support in one way or another." Mr Giltrap says making these sort of moves becomes easier financially if you win. He says if you put a win on the table, the pricing changes often if you're considering a move. Paddon's next event is Rally France in three weeks. Photo: Hayden Paddon (supplied) |
