Scott Dixon has suffered what could be a costly engine failure in the IndyCar street race in Toronto.

Dixon started from fifth on the grid but had to retire early in the race after mechanical problems and had to settle for last place.

Ryan Hunter-Reay won the race to take the championship lead while Dixon's DNF sees him drop to fourth in the standings.
