The Southern Steel are committed to playing ANZ Championship games in Invercargill, despite the Stadium Southland rebuild being delayed further. The venue won't be ready until July, after the 2013 season finishes. Steel chief executive David Bannister says they'll play another season in the velodrome and didn't consider taking all of their home games to Dunedin. "The facility, using the velodrome, there is nothing wrong with it. It's an adequate facility. "We've been talking the last couple of days again with the stadium staff. They've been extremely supportive, very honest and open about moving forward with 2013." Bannister says they miss out on potential additional revenue by not playing at Stadium Southland.
