A new recruit for the Southern Steel for next year's ANZ Championship netball competition.
The Steel has snared the services of former Silver Ferns defender Sulu Tone-Fitzpatrick, from 2012 champions the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic.
Coach Janine Southby says they have been trying to lure Tone-Fitzpatrick south for a couple of years, so it is great to get her across the line.
"She's still young and she's still got a lot to learn but I think the skills that she brings and the way that she plays the game will really help our defence end."
The Steel has also retained six of the players from this year's roster, including Silver Ferns shooter Jodi Brown and Wendy Frew after missing last year for the birth of her son Archie.
