Silver Ferns coach Wai Taumaunu has blasted her team for letting the chance for a clean sweep over Australia slip. After trailing 20-15 at the end of the first quarter in the third and final test in Christchurch, the tourists turned the tables and led by 12 goals heading into the final 15 minutes. Taumaunu says they made far too many mistakes. "We just made some really dumb errors, and the Australians punished us, and it's not rocket science, it's that simple. When we held onto the ball in the 1st and the 4th, things were great, but you just cannot give the ball to the Australians as easy as we did." The Silver Ferns are next involved in the Quad Series in the middle of next month. Photo: Wai Taumaunu (Photosport) |
