Despite South Africa's netball team being on the end of some heavy defeats during the Quad series, there is belief that they could step up to ANZ Championship level for the game tomorrow night. The Proteas play the Silver Ferns for the second time, in Tauranga tomorrow, having lost by 32 goals to Australia on Thursday. Without knowing too much about their backgrounds, Ferns coach Wai Taumaunu says some of the South Africans could go alright in the trans-Tasman league. Taumaunu says their circle defenders and shooter Christine Bootha may be capable of stepping into the competition. Taumaunu says Erin Burger, who isn't playing in the Quad Series because of injury, is a player that has impressed her for some time. Photo: Photosport |
