The Silver Ferns have held off a fierce Australian comeback to win the second Constellation Cup netball test 50-49 in Auckland. New Zealand led 15-6 at quarter time and 31-19 at halftime, but Australia dominated the second half to set up a thrilling finish. Australian shooter Caitlin Bassett had a chance to send the game into extra time but she missed a shot from close range. The result means New Zealand wins the Constellation Cup for the first time. It's also the first time the Silver Ferns have beaten Australia in a series in eight years. Photo: Photosport |
