Counties-Manukau are into the ITM Cup Premiership with a convincing 41-16 victory over Otago in the Championship final in Pukekohe. After finishing the round robin on top of the ladder, the Steelers have scored five tries to one on their way to their first provincial title since 1993. Counties led 20-13 at half time courtesy of tries to August Pulu and Mark Selwyn, before running away with three late tries through Pulu, Tim Nanai-Williams, and David Bason. Otago threatened an upset when Adam Thomson scored their only try mid-way through the first half, but were unable to consistently threaten the hosts. Photo: Photosport |
