New Zealand's been knocked out of the Japan leg of the IRB World Sevens Series.

They've been beaten by Samoa in extra time, with the Pacific Islanders scoring just a few minutes in to win 17-12.

Gordon Tietjens' side scored in the last play of regulation time through Mark Jackman, but couldn't seal the victory.
