Wallabies great John Eales is picking the Western Force as a possible surprise package in Super Rugby this year.
The Force finished third in the Australian conference last season but 12th overall.
Eales says their position on the table isn't an accurate reflection of how they played.
He says they lost six games by less than six points last year so if they have some luck this year, it could make a big difference.
Eales believes the Reds and Waratahs will once again be at the top of the Australian Super Rugby conference.
The two sides made it the finals last year before the Reds went on to win the title, while the Waratahs were derailed by almost a full team list of injuries.
Eales says the Queenslanders will be Australia's best chance at winning again in 2012.
He says being a young team that has the experience of winning a title will be a huge advantage to the Reds.
The Waratahs and Reds clash in the opening round of Super Rugby in Sydney on Saturday night.
The Western Force face the Brumbies in Canberra on Friday night after the Blues and Crusaders kick off the competition in front of what's set to be a big crowd at Eden Park.
