Southland's recorded its first win of the ITM Cup season in emphatic fashion. The Stags have scored four unanswered second half tries to thrash Hawke's Bay 35-7 in Invercargill. Jamie Mackintosh, Jason Rutledge, Tim Cornforth and Dion Bates all crossed for tries to ensure Southland snap their drought. The hosts led 9-7 at halftime. Southland remains second to last in the championship standings but now boast seven competition points, while Hawke's Bay remain rooted to the bottom of the premiership.
