The Wellington Phoenix have lost a pulsating A-League elimination final 3-2 to Perth Glory in Western Australia.

Bas van den Brink opened the scoring of the Glory after 13 minutes but goals shortly after halftime from Chris Greenacre and Manny Muscat had the Phoenix 2-1 up.

Ben Sigmund was then forced off with a hamstring strain and Billy Mehmet capitalised to square the ledger at 2-all and send the game into extra time.

Substitute Todd Howarth scored the winning goal with eight minutes to go, to send the Glory through and end the Phoenix's season.
