NZ U23 side beaten by Saudi Arabia

The New Zealand under 23 football team has been beaten 3-0 by the Saudi Arabia national team in Melbourne.

The Saudis are in the Victorian capital to prepare for a crucial FIFA World Cup qualifier against Australia on February 29 and the experience of the more senior side told as they dominated large periods of possession.

New Zealand coach Neil Emblen says the testing encounter will do their Olympic preparations a power of good.
