The New Zealand women's football team has come agonisingly close to a historic victory over Australia in Wollongong. The Football Ferns have drawn 1-all with the Matildas. The home side equalised in added time, after Hayley Moorwood had given New Zealand a 1-nil lead from a Anna Green cross in the 50th minute. The Football Ferns haven't beaten Australia in 18 years. They will play the second test on Wednesday. Photo: The Ferns celebrate Hayley Moorwood's goal (Photosport) |
