Football Ferns hope for a favour

Share |

| Football News | Tuesday July 31 2012 23:06

The New Zealand womenâ s football team are hoping for a favour at the London Olympics overnight.

The Football Ferns need either the USA or Sweden to win their final group matches to give New Zealand a chance of advancing to the quarter-finals.

Tony Readingsâ side will then have to beat Cameroon in the late kick-off in Coventry to make it through to the last eight as one of the two best third placed teams.

The Football Ferns have never won a match at a major tournament, but they've got a great chance to break that duck with Cameroon having conceded eight goals and scored none.
