All Whites central defender Michael Boxall is officially a Wellington Phoenix player. The A-League club has been negotiating with the Vancouver Whitecaps player in recent weeks and has now confirmed Boxall has signed a two year deal. Boxall has some issues to sort out in Vancouver but is aiming to join his new club as soon as possible. Phoenix general manager David Dome says Boxall is a genuine threat to captain Andrew Durante and veteran Ben Sigmund.
"We expect him to come in and push both those players who (really) in the last couple of seasons haven't had the next guy coming along to push them along." Dome says now they just need to sign some under 21 players to fill their roster. Photo: Photosport |
