Kiwi heptathlete down the field after first event

Kiwi Sarah Cowley has posted a disappointing high jump in the second event of her heptathlon at the London Olympics.

Cowley cleared the 1.80m mark in her third attempt, but failed at all three chances to reach the 1.83m mark.

She took 978 points from the event to have 1963 overall and move up to 24th on the standings.

Her next two events are in the evening session in London, with the shotput and 200m to come.
