Hamish Bond and Eric Murray have won the Supreme Award at the Halberg Awards in Auckland.

The Olympic champion men's pair has also been named Team of the Year, on a night dominated by rowing.

Bond says it must be hard for the judges to compare gold medallists.

He says it's apples and oranges, and they are just honoured.

Mahe Drysdale has won the Sportsman of the Year award, while his mentor Dick Tonks has been named Coach of the Year.

Nathan Cohen and Joseph Sullivan's performance to win gold in the men's double scull has been voted the Sporting Moment of the Year.

Meanwhile, Valerie Adams has won the contentious Sportswoman of the Year award, for the seventh consecutive time, ahead of Lisa Carrington and Lydia Ko.

Adams says she's happy to close the chapter on 2012.

Sophie Pascoe has been named Disabled Sportsperson of the Year and Ko has been awarded the Emerging Talent prize.
