Kiwi Jack Bauer's claimed a credible tenth place in cycling's road race in London. Kazakhstan's Alexander Vinikurov's won the race after breaking away from the lead group 7km from the finish. Bauer plans to put his feet up for the next couple of days following his impressive showing in the men's Olympic road race.
Bauer now has the time trial to think about.
He says he’s sure he's got enough time to freshen up.
"It's Saturday today, the time trials not until Wednesday afternoon. I'll be right, I'll be back." The women's road race will take place tonight. Linda Villumsen is the lone New Zealand rider in the field. Photo: Getty Images |
