The Olympic dream lives on for two more New Zealand rowing crews, but the campaign of one of the other crews has ended in disastrous fashion.

Fiona Patterson and Anna Reymer are straight through to the final of the women's double sculls after finishing second in their heat at Eton Dorney.

The men's quadruple sculls crew is through to the semifinals after winning its repechage, but the women's quad's hopes are over.

The quartet of Sarah Gray, Eve Macfarlane, Louise Trappitt and Fiona Bourke were on track to qualify from their repechage until one of their oars snapped and they crept home to finish last.

The men's four face a repechage after finishing fourth in its heat.
