Black Sticks looking to make history

Two wins and now an upset in their minds.

The women's Black Sticks are looking to remain the only unbeaten team in pool B of the Olympic hockey competition, with a win over Argentina this morning.

The second ranked Argentines were stunned by USA earlier in the week, and coach Mark Hager says there's no reason New Zealand can't do the same.

"We've got nothing to lose. We don't have medals. We don't have history. We are looking to make a bit of history by trying to finish as high as we can".

Hager says they must be accurate in defence.

"If you look at our results over the last couple of years. We have improved each time against them but where they have beaten us and beaten us well is when they have converted their corners like they did against South Africa. I didn't think South Africa were that poor the other night. They just let five corner goals in."

A win would put the Black Sticks in the box seat for a semi-final place.

The game starts at 8:15.
