Rice undergoes shoulder surgery

Stephanie Rice has undergone surgery to repair a torn tendon in her right shoulder.

Australia's triple Olympic swimming champion withdrew from the Queensland State Championships this week with pain in the joint that has been troublesome for the past two years.

She hopes to be back in the pool by Christmas.
