Another gold for Pascoe at Paralympics

Another day, another medal, for Sophie Pascoe at the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

The 19-year-old swimmer has twice lowered the world record on her way to winning gold in the S10 women's 100 metre butterfly.

"Didn't do the best touch into the wall at the end but I'm a critical person about myself, but I can't complain - a new world record and a gold medal."

Pascoe's finished more than four seconds clear of second to now have two golds and one silver after just three days of competition.

Pascoe says she's put a lot of focus on the third of her six events.

"It was a crucial event of mine, but also a fun event, the one thing that Rolly (Crichton, coach) said to me before this race tonight was just go out and enjoy yourself and that's exactly what I did - I had fun swimming at the same time as racing."

Pascoe says she's racing the clock not her opposition.

"And that's what it is all the time when it comes down to racing. it's about racing the time, you wanna go out and do personal bests, it's not about the gold, it's not about the silver or bronze, it's about going out there and doing a personal best."

Pascoe now has two days off competition before the 100 metres backstroke on Tuesday night.

She says she's got a couple of crucial days of training ahead.

"It's about getting those right and obviously getting those little things perfects as well like touches and turns for the next three races."

Sophie Pascoe won three gold and one silver in Beijing.

Mary Fisher has secured bronze in the S11 women's 50 metre freestyle to go with the silver she claimed in the 100.

Fisher says her coach hadn't even mentioned medals in the lead up to the event.

"We've just been working on improving my stroke and times, and yeah it's definitely paid off, getting a personal best and being right up there with world record holders, and everyone that's breaking world records."

New Zealand's medal haul now stands at seven, which is 15th overall.

More than half of the New Zealand Paralympic team will be in action on day four of the Games tonight, including flag bearer Michael Johnson.
