UPDATED 12:02pm: The headline acts for the ASB tennis Classic have arrived in Auckland.
Venus Williams and Ana Ivanovic have touched down in the city to begin preparations for the tournament, starting on Monday.
Ivanovic recently beat Maria Sharapova at an exhibition tournament and says she's pleased with her form.
"It was early December so obviously a lot's changed since then but definitely playing some good tennis and enjoying my time on the court, so I look forward to competition."
Ivanovic and Williams have won eight grand slam singles titles between them.
Venus Williams has high hopes for the ASB tennis Classic, starting on Monday.
Williams says she'll take it round-by-round, but she'd like to at least make the final.
"I feel like I'm coming into this season as fit and healthy as I have in many years so for me that's exciting and I have a positive outlook.
She jokes her goal is to be like Serena Williams.
The seven-time grand slam winner is relieved the off-season is over.
"I'm glad because now I get to play a match and I don't have to be on the court for five hours so it's like a bonus."
