Erakovic makes strong start in Thailand

A top 30 scalp for Kiwi tennis number one Marina Erakovic in the first round of the WTA tournament in Pattaya, Thailand.

Erakovic has beaten third seed, world number 27 ranked Taiwanese player Su-Wei Hsieh 6-2, 6-2.

The Aucklander is using the tournament to prepare for the upcoming Fed Cup tournament in Kazakhstan.

Erakovic will play a Thai wildcard in the second round tomorrow.
