It would be pretty easy right now to sail into disgraced Belarussian shot putter Nadzeya Ostapchuk with a tirade of abuse. Really easy. She looks like Jake from ‘Two and a Half Men’, she looks like Thomas Waldrom, Shane Byrne etc. Her semen sample came back positive. It was a real kick in the balls for her. She stood up for her sample. She shook twice afterwards etc, etc.
To a degree, she deserves all that’s coming her way. She cheated our own Valerie Adams out of her second moment of Olympic glory. She denied Val her rightful place atop the podium. She accepted the gold medal whilst knowing damn well she had no right to do so.
Odd I know, but I actually feel pity for her. Constantly humiliated in competition by Val, she only knew one way to beat her. She must have known she’d be caught, but the desire to get one up on her great rival proved irresistible. She craved that fleeting moment so much that she was willing to feed on prehistoric chemicals to do so. She risked her health, destroyed her credibility, and brought shame on her country and her sport.
That my friends, is a modern Olympic tragedy.
That’s all.
