New Zealand Cricket want the Black Caps coaches to have a similar rotation policy to their players.

Batting coach Craig McMillan took a break recently, with Canterbury mentor Gary Stead assuming his role through the Pakistan test series as well as the ODI and Twenty 20s against Bangladesh.

NZC boss David White says it's a long summer and it's important their coaches are getting time with family and friends.

He says it's also beneficial in developing home grown coaching talent.

David White says New Zealand Cricket hasn't improved it's coaching depth particularly well in recent years.
