Security has been beefed up on the Australian cricket team's tour of Bangladesh after a rock was thrown at the team bus and broke a window.

The bus was travelling in an armed convoy between the stadium and team hotel in Chittagong last night when the incident happened.

No players or officials were harmed although it's understood the team masseuse was sitting closest to the window, but there was no broken glass in the bus.

Australia had been scheduled to tour Bangladesh in 2015 but it was called off due to fears of terrorist attacks targeting Australian nationals.
