The Wellington Phoenix have unveiled their new head coach.

As widely rumoured, it is Darije Kalezic.

The 47-year old Dutchman comes to Wellington with eight years head coaching experience across the top two divisions in the Netherlands, England, Belgium and Saudi Arabia.

He also had a 19-year career as a defender in Bosnia and the Netherlands, including more than 10 seasons in the Dutch top flight.

Kalezic will be assisted by Rado Vidosic who has 10 years experience coaching in the A-League with Brisbane Roar, Sydney FC and Melbourne Victory.

He replaces Des Buckingham and Chris Greenacre, who took over the Phoenix as interim co-coaches following the resignation of coach Ernie Merrick.
