Errors have proven costly for the Warriors in their 20-8 defeat to the Raiders in Canberra.

Up 8-6 at the Break, the Mount Smart club's crumbled in the second stanza having made 17 handling errors.

Coach Stephen Kearney is exasperated at the inability to execute the basics.

He says in a game where it's tight, you need to maximise opportunities which they didn't by turning the ball over.

North Queensland's second half comeback against Illawarra has fallen just short, with the Dragons winning 28-22 to go top of the NRL ladder.
