Scott Dixon has secured pole position for next week's Indianapolis 500.
The 2008 champion has clocked the fastest lap time in the top nine shoot-out, ahead of Americans Ed Carpenter and Alexander Rossi.
Dixon said he was a bundle of nerves watching the final two qualifiers.
"The emotions that you get here at are crazy, it's so crazy. This is job one. The real deal is coming up in a week's time and that's where we need to push even harder and try and capitalise more."
It's the third time Dixon will start from pole in what's his 15th start at the Brickyard.
Two-time Formula One world champion Fernando Alonso has qualified an impressive fifth for his Indy 500 debut.
