Blues pivot Piers Francis is leaving New Zealand rugby at the end of the season to return to the UK.
The 26-year-old has been signed by English Premiership club Northampton Saints.
Francis has played for Auckland, Waikato and most recently Counties Manukau at provincial level.
He has been a core member of the Blues squad this year playing in all four Super Rugby games to date, most recently at first five against the Crusaders.
Francis says he will always be thankful of his opportunities in New Zealand but now he's excited by the prospect of joining the Saints and getting to grips with the Premiership.
