A renewed sense of self belief for Kiwi tennis number one Marina Erakovic as she heads into the final part of her season.
Erakovic has won her first tour level match this year, beating a Russian qualifier 6-4, 6-1 to reach the second round at a WTA tournament in Quebec City.
"Coming into the US Open it was unfortunate you know I wasn't quite a hundred percent but at the moment I am and I am happy, I can finally train normally I can play as much as I want to and it's a nice feeling."
Erakovic says she is finally over a nagging neck problem that hampered her since Wimbledon.
"For me it was just a good performance today, I managed to serve well and managed to find my timing pretty quick and I fought really hard and was just really positive out there."
