Peter Ingram dropped Black Caps opener confident he'll retain his place in test side despite poor scores against Aust in one day series

Dropped Black Caps opener Peter Ingram has hit back at critics of his batting.

Ingram was sent back to domestic cricket after a string of poor scores against Australia in the one-day series, but is adamant he will not change his batting style. He is optimistic he will retain his place in the test side when the squad is named today.

In the Plunket Shield, Ingram's Central Districts side are 25 without loss in reply to Wellington's 250. In Queenstown, Canterbury are 218 for four against Otago and Northern Districts are 36 for two in reply to Auckland's total of 227 in Whangarei.
