Kiwi AFL player Kurt Heatherley switches codes

Kurt Heatherley is on the hunt for a new gig, even if it means changing codes.

Having been recruited by them in 2011, the Kiwi AFL player has been de-listed by the Hawthorn Hawks.

As a result, he's begun a two week trial with Super Rugby side the Melbourne Rebels.

Heatherley says it's a cool opportunity but he's unsure how he'll go.

"I might be bloody hopeless as I haven't played for a few years, but I will see how the next couple of weeks go.

He says he's not shutting the door on AFL.
