Nico Porteous is an Olympic and X Games bronze medallist in freeski halfpipe. He made history at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games, becoming NZ's youngest Olympic medallist as a 16 year old.

Fresh faced and driven to become the best skiier he can be the successes continued for Porteous as he was named Snow Sports NZ Freeskier of the Year in 2018.

Daniel McHardy managed to track the teen down last week to catch up and find out what the last year has been like and what is on the horizon. Unsurprisingly, he was at the top of a mountain working on his craft but was still good enough to take a call.
