The Warriors have started to lay the foundations for who will replace halfback Shaun Johnson.
Youngsters Chanel Harris-Tavita, Hayze Perham and Adam Keighran have all been identified by coach Stephen Kearney as possibilities to join Blake Green in the halves.
But Kearney says they're not going to commit to one of them or another potential recruit just yet.
"We're not going to be rushed into any decisions, and what presents itself over the next month, two months, I'm not too sure when it's going to be. We'll be making a decision that feels best for our footy club long term."
Members of the Warriors are back at Mount Smart Stadium for pre-season training ahead of the 2019 NRL season, including Green.
Green says that there won't be much pressure on Johnson's replacement.
"We're all about team first and working hard for each other, and I just think who ever comes in, the team will put him in a position to do his own thing. I don't think there's not going to be any extra pressure on him to emulate Shaun."
He says it's not unusual for Johnson to not be at pre-season training in December, isn't out of the ordinary anyway.
"I think he doesn't really start until January anyway, so this time of year nothing 's changed too much, but obviously it's going to be a little bit different for us moving forwards to the start of the year."
Green believes Chanel Harris-Tavita will be Johnson's most likely replacement.
