The Hurricanes were able to stretch the New Zealand super rugby winning streak over Australian teams to 40 matches, then it all came crashing down.
The Highlanders were crushed by the Waratahs over the weekend after a brain explosion by winger Tevita Nabura saw him sent off early in the match.
Being reduced to 14 men for the remainder of the match made it difficult for the southern men to come back and continue the streak against a classy Waratahs outfit.
